Chris Hemsworth
August 11, 1983
Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor, who was born on August 11, 1983 in the city of Melbourne. His family later moved to Phillip Island, south of his hometown. After attending Heathmont Secondary College, he took on a career in acting, making his regular debut in Aussie television show Guinevere Jones. He has been described as "a 6′3 outback steakhouse victoria’s filet mignon with twinkly dream eyes." He portrays the character Thor.

Hemsworth’s claim to fame is a stint in the Aussie soap Home and Away, which is aired across the world. Originally auditioning for the role of Robbie Hunter (which ultimately went to Jason Smith), he was rejected but later recalled as troubled personal trainer Kim Hyde. He held the role until 2007, when he left the show, although his character appeared in a few subsequent episodes.

Recently, Hemsworth trained his sights on Hollywood. After a relatively small (but crucial) role in the movie Star Trek, as James Kirk’s father, he took roles in other upcoming major releases such as Cabin in the Woods, Red Dawn, and the lead role in Thor. Chris also starred in 2012 film, Snow White and The Huntsman along side Hollywood stars, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
